Casual clothing is both appropriate and necessary, and warm clothing is usually required all year, especially at night. You will probably find that the temperature is significantly lower in the Adirondack that it is at home, so come prepared with clothing for different types of weather.
You will want to bring enough clothes for your stay, as there are no laundry facilities on the premises. Laundry and dry cleaning service is arranged for conference groups remaining at Minnowbrook for more than one week.
Cell phone reception can be hard to get at Minnowbrook, however, standard phones are available in all rooms. And since they are calling card or reverse charge phones, you may consider bringing a calling card for your convenience.
Shoes should have flat soles and be sturdy and comfortable. The nearest convenience store is eleven miles away, so be sure to bring all toiletries from home to avoid running out.
Your conference fee covers all meals, snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages served on the premises so there is no need to bring extra money to pay for meals. You may, however, want to have some spending money for use at nearby craft shops and antique exhibits.
People attending Minnowbrook find ample opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the forest in an atmosphere of relaxation and good fellowship. There are many activities Minnowbrook has to partake in. However, you may want to bring your own tennis racquet and balls, fishing rod, golf clubs, ice skates, or skis as these items are not provided by Minnowbrook. Don't forget your camera and binoculars!
